If you are not satisfied with your current GSM service provider and want to change to someone else, then you might be prompted with the message “SIM network unlock PIN”. You need to enter this code and then you can switch to any service provider of your choice. You can request an unlock code to your service provider but you need to meet certain eligibility criterion. But make sure that the service provider you are switching to and your current service provider are of same type i.e. either both GSM or both CDMA. However, if you fail to meet the requirements, you can follow the below procedure to unlock your phone:

First, you need the IMEI number of your phone device. To obtain, dial *#06# on your phone. A 15-17 digit no. will appear on the screen. Note it down.

Then, you can get the unlock code from one of the internet services available like cellunlocker.net
After you receive the unlock code, there are two methods you can follow.
• Input a Non-accepted SIM card in your phone.
• Phone will ask for a Network Unlock Code.
• Input the Code and enter.
OR
• Switch ON your phone without a SIM card.
• Compose #PW+CODE+7# or #PW+CODE+1#
• Mark down that

• The phone show “SIM Restriction Off” and is unlocked!
